What types of imaging services do you offer?

We provide both X-ray and ultrasound imaging services.

Do I need an appointment for an ultrasound?

Yes, ultrasounds require appointments, although walk-in appointments may be accepted depending on availability.

What are your office hours?

Our hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We are closed on Sunday.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Most general exams do not require an appointment and can be done on a walk-in basis. However, you may want to contact us first if the examination is something complex, like a skeletal survey.

Do I need a requisition for all types of exams?

Yes, you will need a requisition from your doctor or nurse practitioner for all examinations.

How should I prepare for the exam?

We ask that you shower, refrain from wearing scented products, and wear clothing that is easily removable if necessary. T-shirts with no heavy appliqué and elastic waist pants or shorts are ideal.

Should I have an x-ray if I am pregnant or think I may be pregnant?

You should not have an x-ray during the first trimester of your pregnancy unless approved by your doctor.

Can I bring my child with me to my appointment?

We request that you do not bring children to your exam. To prevent exposure to radiation, they cannot enter the x-ray rooms with you.

How long will my exam take?

General exams can range from 10 minutes (for a finger) to 45 minutes (for a complete spine or skeletal survey).

Will the technologist tell me what they saw in my exam?

Only radiologists are qualified to interpret results, so technologists cannot discuss findings with you.

You have the option to purchase a CD of your images for a fee.

When will my doctor get the report?

Reports are usually faxed to your doctor by the end of the day. Urgent results will be communicated as soon as possible.

What services does CCMSU provide?

CCMSU offers MSK Ultrasound, General Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, and Digital X-rays.

How can I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment through our online booking request form or by contacting us directly via phone or email.

What are the safety protocols in place for COVID-19?

CCMSU follows the Ministry of Health COVID-19 protocols and requests that patients attend the facility alone unless assistance is needed.

How do I book an appointment?

You can call the office at 905-985-9727 to schedule an appointment or walk in to speak to our friendly reception staff. Ensure you have your requisition available at the time of booking.

Do I need my health card?

Yes, it's essential to have a valid health card since we cannot perform Diagnostic Imaging exams without valid Health Care coverage.

Do I need to arrive a few minutes before my appointment?

We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Will you accept requisitions from other facilities?

Yes, we accept all requisitions issued by a licensed physician for any Diagnostic Clinic in Ontario.

Can I book all my tests on the same day?

In most cases, yes, but not all services are available each day. Please check with staff for coordination.

What happens if I'm late for my test?

If you are late, we will do our best to accommodate you. However, if there isn’t enough time left, we will need to reschedule your appointment.

When will my results be available?

Typically, results are available in 3-4 business days; some tests may take 5-7 business days.

My doctor is not in, can I get the results of my tests?

Staff at Port Perry Imaging are unable to share test results directly with patients; you must follow up with your medical physician.

Can my results be sent to my family doctor as well?

Yes, we can send a copy of the report to your family doctor or specialist if you request it.

Do I need an appointment for an X-ray?

No, X-rays are available on a walk-in basis and do not require a pre-booked appointment.

How long will I be waiting for an X-ray?

Waiting times depend on the number of patients ahead of you.

No, PPI does not perform ECGs, but we offer Echocardiograms.

What is the difference between an Echocardiogram and an Electrocardiogram?

An Echocardiogram is an ultrasound of the heart, whereas an Electrocardiogram (ECG) records the electrical activity of the heart using electrodes on the skin.

How long are my obstetrical ultrasounds?

1st Trimester/Dating – 30 minutes, Nuchal Translucency – 45 minutes, 20-week Anatomy – 1 hour 15 minutes.
