Is 3D, 4D & HD/5D ultrasound safe for me and my baby?

Yes, it is safe as they use the same frequency as standard 2D ultrasounds, which have been used for over 35 years without proven side effects.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance because these ultrasounds are elective.

When is the best time to have a 3D, 4D or HD/5D ultrasound?

It's recommended to come in between 14-28 weeks for the body's overall view and again at 28-35 weeks for more detailed facial features.

When can I determine the sex of the baby?

Gender can usually be determined around 14 weeks with high accuracy. If unclear, a complimentary rescan can be scheduled within the next two weeks.

What should I do to get the best possible 3D, 4D, & HD/5D pictures?

Drink plenty of fluids leading up to the appointment and ensure ample amniotic fluid is around the baby.

What if I am running late?

If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may need to cancel your appointment and reschedule.

How can I pay for the ultrasound?

We currently accept major credit and debit cards.

Will my doctor be contacted about the ultrasound?

We do not contact your doctor as this is an elective procedure, but if any issues arise during the scan, we will advise you to contact them.

What do I bring with me to my appointment?

Bring your insurance card with ID and group number, any claim numbers for workman’s compensation or auto injuries, and relevant outside films.

Do I need to be pre-authorized by my insurance company before my scan?

We will attempt to obtain pre-authorization for CTs and MRIs, but it's your responsibility to confirm it is secured.

What if I don’t have insurance?

We can provide an estimated cost and connect you with our billing department to discuss a payment plan.

How can I pay for my scan?

Payments can be made via cash, checks, Visa, and MasterCard.

How long does it take for my procedure/exam?

Most MRIs take 20-30 minutes, CTs 10-15 minutes, X-Rays about 10 minutes, and ultrasounds between 20-30 minutes.

How long does it take to get results?

Reports typically have a 24-hour turnaround, with STAT orders available within 2-4 hours.

Do I need to be NPO (nothing by mouth)?

Yes, for a CT scan with contrast, you need to be NPO for 4 hours, and for an abdominal ultrasound, 8 hours.
