What is the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D and HD?

2D ultrasound provides traditional black and white images. 3D ultrasounds offer sepia-toned 3-dimensional still images, giving a realistic view. 4D captures 3D images in real-time, showing movement, like yawning and thumb sucking. HD imaging combines all these features with enhanced clarity.

Ultrasound imaging uses a small transducer and ultrasound gel applied to the skin. The transducer sends sound waves into the body and collects the echoes, which are then used to generate images.

Ultrasound poses no risk as it does not involve ionizing radiation. Studies over the past 30 years confirm its safety for mothers and babies.

Does this take place of my ultrasound at my OB/GYN office?

No, this is a non-diagnostic elective service meant for bonding. Always maintain regular appointments with your OB/GYN.

How far along should I be for a 3D ultrasound?

2D scans can be done from 6 weeks, but for optimal 3D imaging, weeks 24-32 are recommended.

Are you able to tell the sex of the baby?

In most cases, we can indicate the baby’s sex as early as 14 weeks, though cooperation from the baby is essential.

Will I always get a perfect image of my baby?

Not always; factors like the baby’s position can affect image quality. We strive to capture the best images possible.

Is 3D ultrasound covered by insurance?

No, insurance does not cover elective 3D ultrasounds. We accept various payment methods including cash and major credit cards.

What should I do to prepare for my appointment?

Drink plenty of fluids and eat 30 minutes before your appointment for the best results.
