CTR with ultrasound guidance can be done in a procedure room or office setting.

Will you have to be put to sleep for the procedure?

The carpal tunnel release is generally performed under local anesthesia.

Will you have to come back to have sutures removed?

Typically, the small incision is closed with adhesive strips or a bandage, so no sutures are needed.

What do you typically use to manage pain after the procedure?

Most patients require only ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain management.

Are you able to do a release on both wrists on the same day?

Yes, if clinically indicated, carpal tunnel release can be performed on both wrists on the same day.

Will you have to go to therapy post procedure?

Postoperative therapy is generally not required.

When can you start to use your hand post procedure?

Many patients can tolerate immediate motion of their hand, but it is best to consult with the treating physician for specific instructions.
