What services does Capital Imaging offer?

Capital Imaging provides a variety of imaging services including 3T MRI, Open MRI, CT scans, 3D Mammography, Second Read services, AI Bone Densitometry, Ultrasound, and X-Ray.

Can I get same-day appointments?

Yes, same-day appointments for multiple exams are often available upon request.

What are your hours of operation?

In Clifton Park, we operate from Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and in Latham, from Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Early morning and Saturday appointments can be arranged.

Are you able to tell the sex of the baby?

Yes, we can usually indicate the sex of the baby, although we cannot guarantee it as factors like body tissue content and fetal position can affect our ability to determine sex. If we cannot determine the gender, there will be no charge, and we can reschedule.

Will I always get a great image of my baby?

Usually, but we cannot guarantee ideal images due to factors such as the baby's position or insufficient fluid around the face.

What is an Elective Prenatal 3D/4D Ultrasound?

Elective ultrasounds provide a bonding experience for expectant mothers and require a medical diagnostic ultrasound by your OB prior to the elective experience.

When is the best time to have a 3D/4D Ultrasound?

The best time is between 24 and 32 weeks. Generally, 27-28 weeks are ideal because the baby has sufficient fat yet plenty of room to move.

Are 3D/4D Ultrasounds safe?

Yes, ultrasounds are extensively studied and have shown no harmful effects on mothers or fetuses.

Is there any preparation for an elective 3D/4D ultrasound?

Clients should hydrate for 3-4 days before the appointment and have a full bladder at the time of the appointment.

Is the 3D/4D Ultrasound covered by insurance?

No, elective ultrasounds are not covered by insurance. We accept cash and major credit cards.

Can I bring friends and family to my appointment?

Yes, we encourage friends and family to attend!

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, appointments are required for all services.

Can this type of Ultrasound take the place of an Ultrasound done at my doctor's office?

No, Baby Bumps is an elective, non-diagnostic ultrasound that does not replace a diagnostic scan from an OB office.

How much does my appointment cost?

All services and appointments at New Direction Women’s Center are completely free. You do not need to file an insurance claim.

How do I know if I’m pregnant?

Pregnancy symptoms vary person to person, but the most common symptom is a missed period. Most women also experience additional symptoms in the early stages of their pregnancy including spotting, tender breasts, fatigue, nausea, backaches, frequent urination, darkening of nipples, food cravings, and dizziness.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

Yes. Your comfort is our main priority. Guests are always welcome.

Will people find out about my appointment or results?

No. New Direction Women’s Center strictly adheres to a privacy policy that does not allow anyone to learn about your appointment or results without your permission.

Why do I need an ultrasound?

Ultrasounds are an easy way to determine necessary information about your pregnancy. It can confirm viability, determine the location of your pregnancy, and detect the gestational age and baby’s heartbeat.
