Can I access my images and reports online?

Yes, patients can create an account on our PocketHealth platform to access their imaging history securely and share results with their care providers easily.

Can I get a paper copy of my report/CD of my exam?

We no longer provide imaging records via CD. However, patients can access their imaging records through secure online access.

What should I wear for an ultrasound appointment?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing as there are no specific preparations required for an x-ray scan.

How do I prepare for an abdomen ultrasound?

If your appointment is in the morning, refrain from eating or drinking after midnight. For afternoon appointments, you may have dry toast, black tea, black coffee, and juice until 9 a.m., but nothing after that.

What is required for a pelvis ultrasound?

You need to have a full bladder. Start drinking 3 cups (24 oz/750 mL) of fluid 1 1/2 hours before your appointment and finish 45 minutes before the appointment time.

What if I have an abdomen and pelvis combined ultrasound?

You must have an empty stomach and a full bladder. Do not eat anything for 12 hours prior, and drink 3 cups of water 45 minutes before the examination.

What are the preparations for a prostate with transrectal ultrasound?

Take a mild laxative the evening before the appointment. Drink 3 cups of water 1 1/2 hours before the appointment and finish 45 minutes prior.

What types of ultrasound services do you offer?

We provide a variety of ultrasound services, including abdominal, pelvic, transrectal prostate, obstetric, transvaginal, musculoskeletal, and salivary glands ultrasound imaging.

How quickly will I receive my ultrasound results?

For non-emergency cases, results are typically sent to referring physicians within 24-48 hours.

Is parking available at your location?

Yes, we offer free and safe parking for all our patients.

We provide X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Bone Density services.

Do I need a requisition form for my appointment?

Yes, please bring your requisition form to your appointment unless you're submitting a request without one.

What is the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP)?

The OBSP offers regular breast cancer screening to women aged 50 to 74, emphasizing early detection.

What types of imaging services do you offer?

We provide a wide range of services including Ultrasound, X-Ray, Mammography, Fluoroscopy, and Bone Density Imaging.

Can I get an X-ray at night?

Yes, we offer 24/7 radiology services for urgent cases.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

Most insurance plans require a referral for diagnostic imaging. Please check with your insurance provider.

What types of diagnostic imaging services do you offer?

We offer a variety of imaging services including X-rays, mammograms, bone densitometry, ultrasound, and vascular ultrasound.

Do I need a referral to get a mammogram through the OBSP?

No, eligible women can receive screening mammograms without needing to see their referring provider or have a requisition from a doctor.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Most general exams do not require an appointment and can be done on a walk-in basis. However, you may want to contact us first if the examination is something complex, like a skeletal survey.

Do I need a requisition for all types of exams?

Yes, you will need a requisition from your doctor or nurse practitioner for all examinations.

How should I prepare for the exam?

We ask that you shower, refrain from wearing scented products, and wear clothing that is easily removable if necessary. T-shirts with no heavy appliqué and elastic waist pants or shorts are ideal.

Should I have an x-ray if I am pregnant or think I may be pregnant?

You should not have an x-ray during the first trimester of your pregnancy unless approved by your doctor.

Can I bring my child with me to my appointment?

We request that you do not bring children to your exam. To prevent exposure to radiation, they cannot enter the x-ray rooms with you.

How long will my exam take?

General exams can range from 10 minutes (for a finger) to 45 minutes (for a complete spine or skeletal survey).

Will the technologist tell me what they saw in my exam?

Only radiologists are qualified to interpret results, so technologists cannot discuss findings with you.

You have the option to purchase a CD of your images for a fee.

When will my doctor get the report?

Reports are usually faxed to your doctor by the end of the day. Urgent results will be communicated as soon as possible.
