What type of MRI machine does your office have?

At Spectrum MRI we have a Siemens Magnetrom Espree (High Field). Our machine is semi open with a short bore.

What is a design coil?

A design coil is a special antenna that gets placed on the specific body part to pick up signal with more clarity, for example, a breast coil, wrist coil, or knee coil.

How long will my MRI take?

All of our MRI’s consist of 30-45 minutes depending on the body part, as they consist of several sequences to capture detailed images.

What if I'm claustrophobic?

We have a semi open, short bore machine which accommodates most body types. You can bring someone to accompany you, and if you are extremely claustrophobic, we recommend a mild sedative from your physician.

When and how will I get my results?

Your scan will be read by a Specialized, Board Certified Radiologist, with a detailed report provided 2-5 business days after your MRI. The results will be faxed or emailed to your referring physician.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most commercial and group insurance plans, PPOs, Workers Comp, LOP, PIP, and Medicare.

What if you are not on my insurance plan?

We will accommodate your in-network benefits even if we are not a participating provider.

What if I do not have insurance?

We will arrange a flexible payment plan for patients without insurance.

Do you file my secondary insurance after my primary insurance or Medicare covers the principal charges?

We will file your primary insurance and, if possible, your secondary insurance after. Make sure to provide all insurance information.

Do you accept Letters of Protection (LOP) from my attorney?

Yes, we accept LOPs as long as the letter is faxed or mailed to our offices beforehand.

Do you accept PIP cases?

Yes, we accept PIP cases, and patients must sign a PIP assignment of benefits.

What do I do when I receive the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance?

Do not be alarmed if you're not shown as in-network; we will make the necessary adjustments.
