While 2D ultrasounds produce flat, black-and-white images showing the baby’s internal organs, 3D and 4D ultrasounds present three-dimensional images offering greater detail from various angles. Additionally, 4D ultrasounds capture video footage of the fetus.

Do I need a doctor's order to schedule a prenatal 3D or 4D Ultrasound?

You do not require a physician's order to arrange a prenatal 3D or 4D ultrasound at Tiny Toes Ultrasound.

What can I expect to see during the maternal 3D/4D Ultrasound?

At 6-12 weeks, you can listen to your baby's heartbeat and see them for the first time. Between 14-20 weeks, sex determination is possible, alongside observing the baby's movements. By 22-25 weeks, facial features start to become clearer, and by 28-32 weeks, the baby often assumes a head-down position displaying true facial features. The ideal time for detailed close-up pictures is around 30 weeks. After 34 weeks, obtaining clear images can be more challenging due to limited space, but success is still attainable up to 40 weeks.
