The ideal timeframe for undergoing a 3D/4D ultrasound is between 28 to 32 weeks, as the baby is more developed by then. Some parents opt for two sessions: one in the earlier stages (14-26 weeks) and another closer to the due date (27-34 weeks).

Your MRI Technologist will ask you to remove all jewelry and metallic items as they may affect the image quality. Don't worry, the MRI is non-invasive and painless, but it can be noisy, and you may need earplugs or headphones. Lying still is crucial to ensure good image quality. If you have concerns about anxiety, you may bring a prescription sedative but should arrange transportation afterwards. A report will be available within 1-2 business days.

How long does an MRI exam take?

An MRI exam typically lasts about 30 minutes per body part and does not require special preparation. You can eat normally and take medications as prescribed. It's advisable to wear loose, comfortable clothing without any metal.

The area being examined is placed inside the MRI machine which contains a powerful magnet, and the digital images produced can be stored for further interpretation.

What could disqualify me from having an MRI scan?

When will the results of my examination be available?

Results are typically available shortly after your exam. Your referring physician will receive the report usually within 24 hours.

How will I get my results of my diagnostic study?

Your referring physician will have the report from our radiologist typically within 24 hours after your scan.

May I get a copy of my films?

Your films or CD will be sent to your physician, who can provide them to you. There may be a nominal charge for additional copies.

How long are my records kept on file?

Your records are maintained in accordance with state laws, usually for a minimum of five to seven years.
