2D ultrasounds are the traditional black & white ultrasounds, showing the baby's skeletal structure and movement. 3D imaging captures the tissue and provides photo-like images of the baby, allowing clarity of features with enhanced colors. 4D imaging includes video, giving a moving picture of the baby with the detail of 3D imaging. HD Live software enhances the images for better sharpness.

Extensive studies since the 1950s have shown that ultrasounds pose no known harm to either the mother or the baby. It's advisable to discuss any concerns with your OB.
