Frequently asked questions
help_outline Do you bulk bill?
Most scans are bulk billed for valid Medicare card holders; however, we are a mixed billing practice for all obstetric ultrasounds. Pensioners and healthcare card holders will be bulk billed for all examinations.
help_outline How long will my exam take?
It is dependent on the type of exam you are having and the area of the body that is being looked at. In most cases the an X-Ray will take 10 minutes and an ultrasound between 20 and 40 minutes.
help_outline Why do I need to arrive before my actual appointment time?
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time so that we may check and process your paperwork before the exam and prepare you for the examination.
help_outline Can I eat and drink?
Some exams do require you to fast beforehand, but you will be advised by the receptionist assisting you in booking your appointment. Otherwise, you are allowed to eat and/or drink.
help_outline Do I have to stop taking medication?
Please continue to take all prescribed medications unless you are told otherwise.
help_outline When are the results of the exam available?
The results are sent to your referring Doctor within 24 hours of the examination.
help_outline Does my doctor need to see my images?
Some doctors such as orthopedic surgeons and chiropractors do need to see the images. We provide free online image access for all referrers.
help_outline Can I bring somebody with me?
Yes, there is a waiting area where friends or relatives can wait for you, and room for 1 additional person in the room for the appointment.
help_outline My child is having an examination. Will I be able to stay with him/her during the exam?
Patients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a guardian over the age of 18 who is willing to fill in paperwork and consent to them having the examination.
help_outline Why do you need my previous reports or images?
Our technicians and radiologists need to be able to compare current results with any existing records you may have in order to notice any discrepancies or changes between the two.
help_outline What clothes should I wear?
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes. Occasionally or at your request we will provide you with a gown to change into.
