What preparations should I make before my ultrasound exam?

Arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment, and do not withhold medications. You may drink enough water to swallow tablets, and if you are diabetic, a light meal is permitted.

How do I receive the results of my ultrasound?

The results will be detailed in a report sent to your physician. The Sonographer cannot discuss findings with you until the physician has reviewed the report.

Are there any specific dietary restrictions for certain exams?

Yes, for certain exams like abdominal ultrasounds, you should avoid eating or drinking anything for 6-8 hours prior to the appointment.
