Is it Coffey Health System or Coffey County Hospital?
Coffey County Hospital was founded in 1964 in Burlington and continues to operate under that name. In 1993, the board of trustees adopted Coffey Health System as an 'umbrella' name covering all of our facilities and services.

Do I have to get a referral from my doctor to see a specialist?
This depends upon the specialty and service. Our specialty clinic staff will be happy to set you on the right path. Give them a call at (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4290.

What if I cannot pay my bill in full?
We have a variety of financial assistance options available. We will assist you in determining your qualified options, such as: no interest short-term payment plans, long-term bank loans, and we also offer a Patient Financial Assistance (PFA) program that may help in paying your balance to qualified applicants. When will I receive a bill?
You will not receive a statement for an immediate balance due until your insurance company(s) have paid or denied payment on your account. Current amounts due are expected to be paid once you receive your statement bill from Coffey Health System.

What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, check, money order, electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your checking or savings account, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express debit and credit cards. In addition, we also offer a bank loan program.

I have balances owed from previous services set up on a monthly payment arrangement. Will my new balance from recent services be automatically added to my existing payment plan?
No. To add new balances due on a current statement received to an existing payment plan arrangement, please call our office directly at (620) 364-4541. Depending on the current balance owed and the prior monthly payment, the terms of the current payment plan may need to be revised to comply with our no interest payment plan policies.
